I remember the experience of getting my ears pierced when I was a kid. When I got to Piercing Pagoda, I chose the best earring that I could. It was a thin, small, and fashionable earring. It was perfect. Try to get your ear pierced with surgical steel. (Please notice that gold is good too.) I decided to get both ears pierced at the same time so that I could just get it over with and the pain would be the same as if you pierced it seperately. They will first clean your ear, then they will mark your ears where they will pierce it. After they make sure that the marks on your ears are symmetrical, the ear piercers will put the gun to your ears. Before you know it, it was done. The piercing pain was similar to being flicked by a rubber band. It really wasn’t bad at all.
It will take about six weeks for your ears to heal. In my experience, if you clean your ears everyday and twist it, your ears will heal without an infection and you will feel no pain during the healing period (I had to pin my hair back for weeks though.) For 6 months after your ears heal, however, you are only allowed to put post earrings in your ear and just to be safe, you are only allowed to use good quality and hypoallergenic earrings with surgical steel, gold or silver posts. For all those young girls who are getting their ears pierced: Is it painful? No. Will it get infected? No, if you take very good care of it. Remember to clean it and twist it everyday. Is it worth it? Definitely Yes.
